As conferences and events become increasingly global, organizers are prioritizing accessibility while seeking solutions that do not add operational complexity. And now there is such a solution.

Wordly just announced new mobile-first enhancements to its AI-powered Translation App, designed to expand multilingual access across conferences, tradeshows and hybrid events.

The latest updates improve both attendee and speaker experiences. Attendees can now use background audio to continue listening to live translations while navigating other apps, such as event platforms or presentation materials.

A new screen-lock feature allows translated audio to play while devices are locked, helping conserve battery life during long event days. An instant language search function also streamlines onboarding by enabling users to quickly find their preferred language.

For presenters and facilitators, the app now includes push-to-talk functionality to support two-way multilingual discussions in breakout sessions, workshops and small-group settings. Automatic language detection and switching ensures seamless translation when speakers alternate between languages, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.

“Event professionals are rethinking accessibility as a core part of the attendee experience,” said Lakshman Rathnam, Founder and CEO of Wordly. “These mobile enhancements give organizers a scalable way to provide inclusive, multilingual access without additional hardware, staffing or logistical burden.”

Unlike traditional interpretation models that depend on headsets, booths or onsite staff, the Wordly app operates on attendees’ own iOS or Android devices. Participants simply enter a Session ID and select their language, with no account creation required. Speaker features are enabled via secure access.

With hybrid formats now standard and international participation rebounding, multilingual accessibility has become a strategic priority for corporate meetings, association events, education programs, and government gatherings.
