Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa

Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa is on track to open this spring and is designed to pay homage to the architects, artists and graphic designers that created the area’s burgeoning mid-century modern art movement in the 1950s. During this time, artists such as Alexander Girard, Frank Lloyd Wright and Paolo Solari used the desert as inspiration for their works. In turn, meeting attendees will see similar bright colors, folk art and cultural patterns used in the property’s architecture and design.

“We are delighted to introduce the first Andaz hotel to Arizona and to this premier resort destination,” says David Tarr, senior vice president of development for Hyatt. “Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa will continue to carry the tradition of what the brand is all about—bringing the very best of the local culture to life through inspiring experiences for guests. It is exciting to see this resort property completely reinvented, and its opening will start a wave of openings for the Andaz brand including hotels in Ottawa and Palm Springs.”

Situated on 22 acres at the base of Camelback Mountain, the resort will feature 201 bungalow-style guest rooms and suites. It will have a 12,000-sf spa, 20,000 sf of indoor-outdoor meeting and event space, a large pool and sundeck, and several dining concepts with Southwest-infused menu options. For instance, a glass box display kitchen will feature a plancha grill where the chef will create local dishes using fresh ingredients. The lounge will be centered around an open mixology hub and will provide a mix of signature cocktails, craft beers and tap beverages.

Groups will also be able to take advantage of Andaz Salon cultural programs that provide interactive experiences for attendees in partnership with the local community of emerging artists, musicians and craftsman. Several distinctive spaces at Andaz Scottsdale will serve as stages for creative Andaz Salon events, ranging from talks and lectures to exhibitions to live performances.
