The Mob Museum is about to get even more interesting with the introduction of “Moe-Bot,” an innovative robotic device that makes virtual tours of the museum possible from almost anywhere in the world.

Launching this April, “Moe-Bot” is a BeamPro telepresence robot that allows guests to “visit” the museum via a computer screen or mobile device as if they were physically there.

Once logged into the system, the user’s face appears on the Moe-Bot’s screen, which is mounted on a mobile robotic stand that is controlled remotely. A museum guide accompanies the Moe-Bot, ensuring an immersive and personalized experience. Groups can remotely participate in educational museum tours (or perhaps a virtual scavenger hunt) using the Moe-Bot by projecting its video feed onto a screen.

“This system is not only technologically impressive, but also will give members of our community who cannot visit the Museum—even visitors across the globe—a high-quality, engaging Museum experience they otherwise couldn’t have enjoyed,” explains Ashley Misko, director of marketing and public relations, The Mob Museum, in a press release. “Best of all, the system is incredibly easy to use.”

Other unique group experiences include a Museum Scavenger Hunt. In this team building activity, groups are invited to scour three floors of exhibits to discover the answers to intriguing questions about the battle between organized crime and law enforcements. Scavenger hunts can be custom-designed to meet the needs of any group.

The Mob Museum offers flexible space and can accommodate groups of 10 to 400. Available packages include “Sleeping with the Mob,” an overnight package that begins at 8pm with appetizers and cocktails and concludes at 9am the next day with a continental breakfast. Activities include the Museum Scavenger Hunt, a screening of the film “Casino,” a courtroom slumber party for up to 50 guests and a group line-up photo.
