Things are looking up, literally, during Pride Month. Gaze skyward and you might see it—special Pride livery from airlines large and small, letting their support take flight.
From Europe to the South Pacific, airlines are celebrating Pride Month in unique ways, now and throughout the year.
Lufthansa
Lufthansa‘s “Lovehansa” Airbus 320neo is in the skies to reflect a message posted on their Facebook page: “We will always spread the love, across borders, screens, and the skies.”
Lufthansa is now also offering unlimited free chatting on its intercontinental flights. Passengers can send and receive any number of messages from their own smartphone or tablet via the familiar apps, regardless of their travel class during the flight, including photos.
The new free service is offered with the support of Mastercard. To use it, passengers have to log in to FlyNet with a Miles & More service card number or an email address registered with a Lufthansa Group Travel ID. They can also sign up or register during their flight.
Brussels Airlines
Meanwhile, Brussels Airlines got into the spirit of Pride, photographing its COO with a Pride flag draped from the pilot’s window and raising a rainbow flag at their HQ in Belgium.
The airline recently elevated Business Class dining with a new tableware collection and a new partnership with star chef Arabelle Meirlaen. Brussels Airlines is the fastest-growing carrier within the Lufthansa Group, and has increased its capacity by 20 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Qantas
Qantas’ Pride colors are flying high, now and all year long.
“Our Pride livery Qantas A330 flies year round … and will still be flying throughout June and July,” a Qantas spokesperson told Prevue. “It will go anywhere on our network serviced by an A330, including Asia.”
In other Qantas news, Qantas Frequent Flyers now will be able to use their Qantas Points to book hundreds of thousands of new reward seats with Hawaiian Airlines marking the start of the strategic airline partnership announced by the two national carriers in January.
As part of the agreement, Qantas Frequent Flyers can book flights across Hawaiian Airlines’ global network, which includes all four major Hawaiian Islands, 15 cities in the United States and 10 international destinations.
Cape Air
Based in Hyannis, MA, commuter carrier Cape Air boasts a colorful rainbow livery on its Cessna aircraft; the airline’s inaugural route in 1989 was Provincetown-Boston, Provincetown being a prominent location for LGBTQ+ couples and known for its high concentration of same-sex households.
Starting Sept. 29, Cape Air will launch year-round twice daily flights between New Bedford (EWB) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), creating seamless connectivity to global destinations via Logan.
The airline also is launching four-time daily service between Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) to Boston (BOS) beginning July 3, 2025; as well as summer air service between Norwood Memorial Airport (OWD) and Nantucket (ACK) and Martha’s Vineyard (MVY) beginning July 3—just in time for the Fourth of July and peak summer travel.
In addition, new St. Thomas to St. Barth’s Service begins Oct. 13, 2025.
