Marriott has announced plans to open The Cape Town EDITION in 2026 at the V&A Waterfront, marking the debut of the EDITION Hotels brand in Africa and adding a new high-end option for meetings, incentives and events in Cape Town.

“The signing of our first EDITION Hotel in Africa marks a significant milestone for the company’s growth strategy in the continent,” said Karim Cheltout, Senior Vice President – Development, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International, in a media statement. “Cape Town is a city that embodies creativity, diversity and a dynamic spirit—qualities that align perfectly with the brand’s ethos.”

Designed With Meetings and Events in Mind

The Cape Town EDITION is expected to feature 142 guest rooms and suites, along with dedicated meeting and event facilities. Plans also include a signature rooftop bar, multiple dining venues and thoughtfully designed social spaces ideal for networking receptions and branded events.

A spa, swimming pool and curated public areas will further support incentive programs seeking a balance of business, wellnessm and destination-driven experiences.

Incentive-Worthy Experiences at an Iconic Waterfront Location

Located within the V&A Waterfront, one of Africa’s most visited destinations, The Cape Town EDITION will place groups at the center of the city’s cultural, culinary and natural attractions. Positioned at the edge of the planned Granger Bay development, the property will offer panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and Signal Hill.

The V&A Waterfront features year-round event programming at its Amphitheatre, Battery Park, extensive dining and retail options, a world-class heliport, superyacht facilities and a new public promenade along the water’s edge—providing planners with flexible options for offsite events and unique group experiences.
