The Railyard Event and Conference Center in Elkins, West Virginia, is on track to open in spring 2026, introducing a much-anticipated venue for meetings, conferences and performances in the region.

The 28,000-sf facility is led by the Randolph County Development Authority (RCDA) and is positioned to boost both tourism and economic growth in Randolph County.

Construction began in January, followed by an official groundbreaking ceremony in April. Once complete, the multi-purpose facility will include a performance theater, a modern conference center and a dedicated co-working space as part of the Ascend Greater Elkins program. The site is located behind the Rotary Amphitheater at the Elkins Railyard Depot.

“We know that in order for our tourism economy to succeed, it must grow,” said Randolph County Development Authority Executive Director and State Senator Robbie Morris during the groundbreaking ceremony. “We know that people love Elkins, they love Randolph County, and we know that many groups and organizations would like to have conferences, conventions and other events in Elkins. We just haven’t had the exact venue to meet their needs. The Railyard Event and Conference Center will solve that issue.”

The project is supported by partnerships with the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development, the WV Water Development Authority, and multiple local and state government entities. The Thrasher Group, Allegheny Design Services and Harper Engineering are leading architectural and engineering services, while Paramount Builders of St. Albans, WV, serves as the general contractor.

Once operational, the facility will be managed by Taylor Hospitality, which specializes in hospitality and club management. Their oversight is expected to deliver a professional, streamlined experience for planners and attendees alike, reinforcing Elkins as an emerging meetings destination.
