Prevue Summit Debuts Fresh Florida CSR Option: Guitars Over Guns

Prevue’s Inspired Events Summit in Palm Beach will debut a new CSR opportunity for meeting and incentive groups coming to South Florida: Guitars Over Guns (GOGO).

A group of Guitars Over Guns students will make their meeting and incentive industry debut at Prevue’s Summit May 2 in Palm Beach, with a musical performance at the start of the opening reception. The organization is ready to do the same for your meeting or incentive program.

This 501(c)(3) non-profit organization provides students in vulnerable public school communities in Miami and Chicago with a safe, musical haven at 36 schools and community sites between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m.—the period when 75 percent of youth-involved violent crime occurs. The goal is to encourage them to express themselves through music and empower them to make positive choices at school, at home and in their communities. GOGO’s dozens of professional musicians serve as “mentors,” working one-on-one with students to achieve their personal and artistic goals.

Check out this video for their heartwarming story.

Since 2008, about 5,000 students have participated in GOGO’s Miami and Chicago programs, with plans for the organization to expand its reach—and the opportunities to perform for business events—across the country. This spring, an inaugural team of Los Angeles-based mentors will bring guitar, bass, piano, and songwriting instruction to 24 students at USC Hybriad High College Prep-Ednovate with USC Rossier in Historic South-Central.
