Industry speaker, educator and visionary Dianne Devitt has created a new mastermind group for women in hospitality, events and travel.
A new mastermind group by Dianne Devitt called The Creative Circle is a chance for women in areas including hospitality, events, meetings, exhibits, incentives, conferences, travel and marketing to come together. The group meets for an hour on Monday afternoons at 1 p.m. EST or Monday evenings at 7 p.m. EST.
The idea to create a mastermind group for the meetings and events industry came out of Devitt’s own personal experience during the pandemic. “On the speaker side of my life, I am fortunate to belong to two masterminds that are invaluable with their support, resources, and feedback,” she said. “Speakers are entrepreneurs and seek feedback, collegiality and interaction from others. Although skill sets can be similar and competitive, the atmosphere is always supportive, recognizing that each person has a specialty that is uniquely their own. Understanding that person’s uniqueness allows the community to support one another.
“We all have the obligation, the choice, to improve ourselves throughout our lifetime,” she added. “And, although no one is more optimistic of the future and the choices it will bring than me, for now many of us are searching, adapting and taking steps to carve the path forward. Learning new tools, exploring new interests and venturing to create a new version of ourselves for personal and professional enhancement is what this time is allowing.”
With so many women in transition—whether they have remained in the same roles or not during the past year—Devitt saw that the time was right to bring women together. “The question is, ‘Will you be ready to embrace the elevation of your industry when it propels forward in the years to come?’ she said. ‘Will you be the best version of you that you can be?’ If you are a businesswoman in the hospitality industry at large business professional with over 20+ years’ experience and believe in investing in yourself and supporting other women, a mastermind community may be the best gift you can give to yourself.”
