ALTOUR Appoints Cindy D’Aoust to Lead Global MICE

D’Aoust has been President of American Queen Voyages; President of Hospitality, Cape Resorts; President and CEO of CLIA; COO of MPl; and Senior VP, Maritz Travel.

ALTOUR, the corporate division of Internova Travel Group, one of the world’s largest travel services companies, has announced the appointment of travel and hospitality industry veteran Cindy D’Aoust as Senior VP, Global MICE. She will lead ALTOUR’s growing meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) businesses, which have been merged under the YES (Your Event Solutions) brand.

At the same time, Sue Gill, the founder of YES, will transition to a broader position as a Senior Advisor to Internova’s leadership team. She will play a pivotal role in providing strategic direction for key initiatives and operational efficiencies across the company. Gill will also play a keen role advising D’Aoust in her position as the new leader of YES.

ALTOUR’s MICE businesses include YES, the event planning agency started by Gill in 2001 in the United Kingdom and acquired by Internova in 2019; the MICE divisions of ALTOUR and Travel Leaders Corporate in the United States; and On Tempo, the event planning division of Corporate Travel Services (CTS), based in Mexico City.

Decade-Spanning Industry Expertise

D’Aoust joins ALTOUR with a diverse background in travel and hospitality, spanning key leadership roles in the MICE, hotel and cruise industries. Over a career of more than 20 years, she has served as President of American Queen Voyages; President of Hospitality for Cape Resorts; President and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association, the world’s largest cruise industry trade group; Chief Operating Officer of Meeting Professionals International; and Senior Vice President at Maritz Travel Company, leading their strategic meeting management operations.

D’Aoust’s experience set will complement Gill’s entrepreneurial style and legacy, with the goal of further scaling ALTOUR’s MICE businesses and continuing to develop the amazing global talent that Gill has assembled.

Gill has enjoyed a 30-year career in the travel industry, including extensive experience with tour operations, travel agency management, overseas representation, travel marketing and MICE businesses. Under her guidance, YES has become one of the most respected business event solution providers in the world, offering a flexible, bespoke approach to both customers and partners.
