Delta Air Lines has introduced Delta Concierge, an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) feature integrated into the Fly Delta app. Designed to elevate the travel experience with personalized assistance and proactive support, the announcement came during Delta’s keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, held at the Las Vegas Sphere.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian described Delta Concierge as an “AI-powered personal assistant” that leverages customer preferences and the airline’s extensive insights to anticipate needs and manage disruptions seamlessly.

AI Concierge

Initially, Delta Concierge will assist travelers by notifying them of upcoming passport expirations, visa requirements and other pre-travel essentials. At the airport, it will guide customers with directions to bag drop, Delta’s Touchless ID lines, Sky Clubs and departure gates. The AI assistant can be accessed through text or speech, offering a conversational experience akin to working with a personal travel advisor.

Looking ahead, Delta plans to expand on other capabilities. Future enhancements include integrating the technology into the airline’s in-flight systems, enabling seatback screens to recognize passengers, deliver personalized greetings and offer tailored entertainment during the journey.

Other enhancements to Delta Concierge will allow customers to automatically connect to Delta Sync WiFi and Delta Sync seatback, the airline’s industry-leading, personalized in-flight entertainment experience.
