MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy to Launch in October with 17 Resorts in Las Vegas and Other US Cities.

Citing compatible corporate cultures and the ability to add value to their loyalty programs, Marriott International and MGM Resorts International have announced a partnership agreement that will begin to roll out in October.  The 20-year licensing agreement also introduces the MGM with Marriott Bonvoy collection, which includes 17 MGM resorts and links both loyalty programs. Starting in October, several MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy hotels will be available for booking on Marriott’s digital platforms, including Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app, with all properties expected to be available by the end of the year. These resorts will continue to be available on MGM Resorts’ channels, including MGMRewards.com and the MGM Resorts mobile app. Members of both loyalty programs will receive information about linking accounts and new program benefits in the coming months.

MGM Hotels in the Collection

Eight MGM resorts in Las Vegas will join MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy: Vdara Hotel & Spa, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, NoMad Las Vegas, The Signature at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel and Casino, and Excalibur Hotel & Casino. The collection also includes MGM Resorts Borgata (Atlantic City, New Jersey), Beau Rivage (Biloxi, Mississippi), MGM Grand Detroit (Michigan), MGM National Harbor (Maryland) and MGM Springfield (Massachusetts).

Four properties in Las Vegas will also be affiliated with existing Marriott collection brands. Bellagio Resort & Casino will join The Luxury Collection, ARIA Resort & Casino will join Autograph Collection, Park MGM will become part of Tribute Portfolio, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will continue its affiliation with Autograph Collection. “We’ve seen strong Bonvoy demand from the Cosmopolitan,” said Bill Hornbuckle, President and CEO, MGM Resorts International, at a press conference. “It is a perfect example of our successful collaboration.”

MICE Takeaways

What will the MGM With Marriott Bonvoy collection mean for planners? “When we talk with MICE planners both domestically and around the world, we hear about the increasing appeal of Las Vegas as a world class meetings destination,” said Anthony (Tony) Capuano, President & CEO Marriott International. “We’re proud to offer The Cosmpolitan, but it has been a singular MICE property for Marriott on the Las Vegas strip. Now we are adding significantly to that, offering valued meeting clients a much broader portfolio, with more than 4 million square feet of meeting space and a robust set of venues.”

“The meetings market is extremely important to us,” added Hornbuckle. “In terms of the future, our team will stay assembled as is. But this is also an opportunity to come together  in terms of client services, programming and the ability to do one-stop-shopping. We think it is going to be very compelling to the meetings market.”
