Global Meetings Industry Day arrives next week. Here’s a look at how some destinations are celebrating a day of advocacy that highlights the powerful impact of meetings, trade shows, conferences and events on people, businesses and communities.

Coming to a meeting or event near you: GMID will be celebrated online and in-person on April 3, 2025. Wherever you are, join your colleagues and friends as they spotlight the global impact of meetings and conventions. Following are a few GMID happenings:

  • MPI is hosting a free, day-long broadcast on the day, as well as pre-GMID online sessions spotlighting the industry in different parts of the world, including Africa and Latin America.
  • PCMA is planning the session, “Adapt, Innovate, Lead: Trends Shaping the Global Meeting Industry,” featuring emcee Clare Crellin, Founder & CEO, Storycraft Lab. Ronald Reagan Bldg., Rotunda, Washington D.C.
  • GMID with the PCMA Chapter of Greater Philadelphia will include two sessions: State of the Global Meetings Industry and The Power of Mega Events, taking place at the Live! Casino & Hotel.
  • MIC of Colorado is commemorating the day with speakers, networking and mentor meetings at MSU Denver.
  • The St. Louis Chapter of MPI will hold a lunchtime roundtable to discuss a variety of topics impacting event professionals today.
  • MPI Toronto’s GMID event, themed Level Up: Innovating the Future of Events, sets the stage for a day of bold ideas, transformative discussions, and meaningful connections.
  • In Canada, convention centers, meeting venues, hotels and attractions across the country will light up in blue to mark GMID 2025. #LightingUpBlue
  • In Valencia, Spain, the Feria Valencia will be the site for GMID 2025, bringing together 150 MICE professionals and also featuring the MPI Iberian Awards ceremony.
