Revitalized meeting spaces and experiential activities for groups at a prime beachfront location.

Experiential team-building and CSR activities for groups are trending at the newly renovated Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa. Sitting on Fort Lauderdale’s largest stretch of private beach, the property has recently emerged from a $32 million renovation with revitalized meeting spaces, reimagined guest rooms and expanded group programming across more than 100,000 sf of indoor and outdoor venues.

Throughout the resort, new design elements reflect a nature-inspired coastal aesthetic in hues of blue and sand, with art and carpeting suggesting the movement of water. The 650 guest rooms and 31 suites feature custom mural accent walls, woven fabrics, warm woods and modern artwork. The 40,000 sf of renovated indoor event space carries through the contemporary seaside style. Meeting rooms and ballrooms feature bronze and textured glass chandeliers reflecting ocean movement and custom Axminster carpet echoing the ocean and canal patterns of the area.

Newly decorated foyer of the Grand Ballroom.

Among the renovated ballrooms is the resort’s largest event space, the 15,000 sf Grand Ballroom that accommodates up to 1,800 attendees for a reception; the 8,000 sf Caribbean Ballroom and the 9,700 sf Ocean Ballroom featuring panoramic views. There are also expanded culinary options for groups at Sea Level Restaurant and Ocean Bar—newly decorated in the signature blue and sand hues and featuring a wall clad with local coral stone and a marine-inspired sculptural motif.

Outdoor experiential group activities abound at the resort, including at six newly added pickleball courts. “Experiential meetings have truly evolved, and at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort, we’re seeing a distinct shift toward immersive, purpose-driven activities that leave a lasting impression,” says Chris Bielski, Director of Sales & Marketing. “One group recently went on a late-night Everglades excursion to observe licensed python hunters in action—returning at sunrise with incredible stories and a deeper connection to Florida’s unique ecosystem. Another growing trend is the continued rise of pickleball—our private beachside courts have become a hotspot for friendly tournaments, team-building, and even branded treats like pickleball paddle cookies from our pastry team. Additionally, many of our groups are prioritizing sustainability and community impact. From participating in beach clean-ups to learning about our sea turtle conservancy efforts, planners are increasingly looking for meaningful ways to give back while enjoying the exclusivity of our quarter-mile private beach. These trends reflect a broader desire to align meetings with experience, purpose, and place—and we’re thrilled to deliver that here in Fort Lauderdale.”
