The 826-room Westin Las Vegas Hotel & Spa said goodbye to Sin City’s gaming and smoking traditions in its latest transformation.

Unveiling a major renovation this month, the Westin property traded in its casino floor to make room for Jake & Eli, an original restaurant and lobby bar concept, in addition to upgraded meeting spaces. The idea behind the switch is that Westin wanted to offer groups an alternative to the typical Vegas amenities available on The Strip, according to Lezlie Young, general manger of the property.

At the renovation’s core is Jake & Eli, a lively culinary experience that combines American bourbon with delicious comfort food in a space decorated by brick walls, industrial chandeliers, high-top seating and plush booths. Meeting planners will also appreciate the property’s four new meeting rooms, located off the lobby, that increases its meeting capacity by 20 percent to more than 30,000 sf. To top off the group experience, custom catering options include a private buffet, signature menus from Jake & Eli and a dedicated pre-function space.

While the new lobby certainly helps the property ring in the New Year, the renovation also included enhancements to the guest rooms as well as to the Hibiscus Spa and Salon and Westin WORKOUT Fitness Studio. But there’s still more to come in 2018, with improvements to the outdoor pool area slated to debut in the coming months.
