South Korea is launching the e-Arrival Card on Monday, replacing paper forms for travelers, who will be able to apply online in advance for a smooth entry experience.

South Korea is joining the UK, Australia and Argentina, among other nations, with the launch of the e-Arrival Card on Monday, Feb. 24. This digital initiative will replace the traditional paper-based visa-on-arrival declaration, offering a more streamlined and efficient experience for incoming travelers.

Who Needs the e-Arrival Card?

The e-Arrival Card is mandatory for all foreign visitors, except for:

  • Registered residents of South Korea
  • Holders of a valid Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA)
  • Airline crew members

Instead of filling out a paper form upon arrival, travelers can now complete their declaration online before departure. This shift is designed to reduce processing times at immigration, making entry into South Korea faster and more convenient. To ease the transition, the paper declaration will still be available until the end of 2025, giving travelers the option to use either method.

Additionally, a single declaration can include up to nine accompanying travelers, making it ideal for families or groups. Any updates or changes to the submitted information can be made directly on the portal before arrival.
