The Together Again Expo, to be held July 24 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, will offer strategies and tools to organizations starting up live events during the pandemic recovery period.

The Together Again Expo’s organizer, Alliance Nationwide Exposition, provides COVID-19 testing at live events nationwide. Results are returned within 10 minutes and attendees testing negative are allowed to enter the event venue.

Even as cases of coronavirus in Florida skyrocket, Phase 2 of reopening allows large venues like sporting arenas, auditoriums, concert halls have been allowed to reopen at 50 percent capacity.

The organizers expect more than 300 exhibitors and 5,000 attendees, many of whom will attend a virtual version that will include highlights from the live event. On the roster of heavy-hitter speakers are Sherrif Karamat, CAE, president & CEO of the Professional Convention Management Association; Amy Calvert, CAE, CEO of the Events Industry Council; and David DuBois, CMP, CAE, CTA, FASAE, president & CEO, International Association of Exhibitions and Events. Mark Tester, the executive director of the Orange County Convention Center, will share how to work in partnership with the city, airport, hospitals, venues and hotels to reopen safely.

Exhibitors range from companies selling sanitization and safety equipment to local attractions, such as Sea World. Video commercials will promote exhibitors on a centrally located stage.

The Together Again Expo includes a page on its web site where people can contribute funds or services to bring a similar event to their destination—an unusual request in unusual times.

Until there’s a vaccine, Mark Yuska, founder and president of Alliance Nationwide Exposition, sees on-site event testing as the path forward for live events. “We listened to our customers and attendees. They want to get back to live events as soon as possible, and they wish to do so in a safe and responsible way. Since the only solution is testing, we set out to provide what our customers asked for.”
