We took the pulse of the experts to identify the top trends that will shape the look of special events in 2018.
Tap into these latest trends for your event decor, among them:
Juxtaposition of rustic and industrial
According to the Chairville blog, in 2018 rustic style is going to be combined with industrial spaces to create a new, more modern feel for events. Try booking events in old warehouses, mix up modern chairs and barnyard tables, and don’t be afraid to combine metallics with greenery or wood and metal finishes.
Gold is in
Forget creamy pastels. Special Events magazine says 2018 color trends harken back to the warm ‘70s and bold ‘80s through statement hues and metallic tones, with gold as the primary metal, as well as harvest gold yellow and amber lighting. The leading color authority—Pantone—also says that golds, metals and warm tones will lead the way in 2018.
The Event Manager blog sees a turn toward oversized floral prints and gorgeous embellished sheers, as they described it: “Monet and his Water Lilies with a hint of whimsy from Van Gogh.” Large-scale floral prints in every color imaginable lead the way in 2018, whether on your tables or splashed across a wall or dance floor with gobos.
Part F&B, part event decor, the donut wall is far from a thing of the past. It’s just too cool, too much fun and far too delicious to stop now.
Take it outside
Using nature as decor will only increase in 2018, according to Eventbrite. Venues are enhancing their outdoor spaces by introducing Wi-Fi and investing in unique sculptures, outdoor dining areas, even kitchen gardens.
