As the Director of Events for Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Melinda Burdette oversees the association’s domestic and international event footprint, including their signature experiences, World Education Congress (WEC) and European Meetings and Events Conference (EMEC). She is charged with the daunting task of designing experiences for thousands of meeting and event professionals that inspire them to innovate and create on their own. Melinda is a Certified Meeting Professional and has worked in the medical, nonprofit, and corporate meetings and events industry. Because of her success and leadership, Northstar Meetings Group recognized her in October 2018 as one of the Top 25 Women in the Meetings Industry. She also led the team that recently was awarded the 2019 Eventex Award for best Global Association Meeting for MPI’s 2018 World Education Congress.

Pierre Stone serves as the Director of Conference Services at the Five-Star Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado Springs. Pierre oversees the events team and inspires them to achieve excellence and provide the finest personal and memorable experience for our group guests. She is often known best for her attention to detail and willingness to exceed guest’s expectations. She has over 26 years of experience in Sales and Catering and a degree from Cornell University in Hotel Administration with a concentration in Sales and Marketing. Pierre came to The Broadmoor in 2007 as Director of National Sales, East Coast. Ms. Stone’s first foray with Conference Services was servicing Association and Corporate Groups. In 2012, Pierre returned to the Sales Team as Director of National Sales, where she was instrumental in the planning and executing of many Insurance and Incentive Groups. In 2017, she returned to the Conference Services Team as Assistant Director and then became the Director of Conference Services in September 2018. Before joining The Broadmoor, Pierre served as a National Sales Manager for The Phoenician, Scottsdale.
