Glasshouses is bringing a new large-scale meetings and events venue to Lower Manhattan after signing a long-term lease for Glasshouse Downtown at Westfield World Trade Center.
Scheduled to open in 2028, the approximately 70,000-sf venue will occupy two floors inside Tower 3 at 175 Greenwich Street and will become the company’s largest and most technologically advanced property to date.
Designed to host nearly 1,500 attendees, Glasshouse Downtown will cater to corporate meetings, conferences, nonprofit galas, product launches, productions, experiential activations and social events. The project represents Glasshouse’s continued investment in flexible event spaces as planners increasingly seek venues that can accommodate multiple formats, hybrid capabilities and immersive experiences.
Built With Flexibility in Mind
The venue’s floor plans will allow planners to divide the space into multiple configurations simultaneously, supporting everything from executive meetings to multi-room conferences. Integrated audiovisual systems, hybrid event capabilities and advanced digital infrastructure are also planned throughout the venue to enhance attendee engagement and simplify event production.
“Our vision was to create one of the most important event destinations in the world—a venue capable of hosting experiences at a scale and level of sophistication that simply does not exist elsewhere in New York City,” said Alex Holiday, Co-Founder and Partner of Glasshouses, in a media statement.
Holiday added that planners increasingly prioritize venues that foster engagement and memorable attendee experiences.
Expanding Lower Manhattan’s Meetings Landscape
Located within the World Trade Center campus, the venue offers direct access to one of New York City’s busiest transportation hubs, making it convenient for local, domestic and international attendees.
The project also aligns with continued development at Westfield World Trade Center, which is adding new retail tenants while welcoming additional corporate investment to the campus.
Construction is expected to begin after design and permitting are completed, with Glasshouse Downtown slated to welcome its first events in 2028.
