Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., will be under construction again after debuting a $140 million renovation last year, but this time the makeover involves constructing a new hotel that caters to groups.

Scheduled to break ground later this fall, the new tower will be built on the current site of the resort’s tennis courts. At 14 stories tall, it will feature 349 guest rooms, including 151 executive suites that offer separate work and private spaces, a large conference table and other features that can be used for meetings.

The expansion also includes 22,000 sf of meeting space, with two ballrooms, 12 meeting rooms and a rooftop reception space—from which groups can watch the nightly Walt Disney World fireworks. A 90-seat restaurant and 50-seat lounge will make the ideal after-meeting hangouts, while a health club, business center, upscale craft cocktail lobby bar and grab-and-go market will round out its amenities.

“This new resort is designed to allow us to better meet the needs of meetings and groups,” says Director of Sales and Marketing Gino Marasco. “Its unique new features will complement our location, recent renovation and service to give planners even more options to enjoy.”

Scheduled for completion in fall 2020, the new tower will give the resort a total of 2,600 guest rooms and 350,000 sf of meeting space. And if that’s simply not enough, there are a wide range of attractions available at nearby Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including the recently opened Toy Story Land.
