Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio has completed a more than $100 million, multi-year renovation of its 300-acre Texas Hill Country property.
New additions include The Big Spring, a 2.2-acre lagoon, the Rancher Hall waterfront event venue and Toptracer Range golf bays, unveiled March 5 with a ranch-themed ribbon cutting.

“After three years of enhancing our resort experience, we are proud to announce the completion of this extensive renovation project,” said Steve Smith, the property’s General Manager. “From the addition of Texas’ newest beach to standalone villas, every enhancement was designed to preserve the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines our resort and inspires guests to return year after year.”
The multi-year renovation modernizes the guest experience while honoring the property’s history as the Rogers-Wiseman Ranch.
The Big Spring Has Sprung

The renovation includes The Big Spring, a 2.2-acre recreational lagoon with white sand beaches, cabanas and water activities. Built with Crystal Lagoons technology—consuming only two percent of the energy needed by conventional swimming pool filtration systems—the feature expands the resort’s existing 5-acre water park, which includes a 900-foot lazy river, multiple pools, a water slide and a FlowRider wave simulator.
Also opening is Aunt Di’s Comfort Station, a new casual dining venue adjacent to the lagoon.
Overlooking the Big Spring, Rancher Hall is a new 5,600-sf indoor/outdoor event venue featuring vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, large windows and access to a patio and event lawn.
Premium Villas & Amenities
Five standalone villas opened in summer 2025, each named for a Hill Country river: Guadalupe, Nueces, Brazos, San Saba and Pecos. Located away from the main resort building, the 2,336-sf villas include four bedrooms—two king rooms and two double-queen rooms—each with a private bathroom. The villas also include kitchens, living and dining areas, and outdoor patios.
Guests receive dedicated villa services and access to amenities at Windflower–The Hill Country Spa, which was renovated in 2025, adding the 1,105-sf Talpa Room for small events and wellness programming. Updates also include improvements to the outdoor spa pool and relaxation areas, along with refreshed interiors and salon facilities.
Meanwhile, the Hill Country Golf Club has added 35 Toptracer Range golf bays—20 covered and 15 uncovered—equipped with ball-tracking technology that provides real-time shot data. The bays are located near The Big Spring lagoon and can be reserved for group play.
