Google trekker, meetingsTourism Santa Fe recently teamed up with Google to capture 360-degree views of some of Santa Fe’s most renowned and beautiful places.

Stemming from the recent accolade of “Top Outdoor Destination in the US” given to the city by USA Today, Google Trekker followed local VIPs and outdoor experts to 32 places such as the Acequia Trail, Allan Houser Sculpture Garden, Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, Santa Fe Opera and La Cieneguilla Petroglyph Site. Trekker’s virtual Santa Fe walkabouts can be used to assess these sites and plan accordingly.

“Trekker is a tool that will enable groups to make more strategic use of many of Santa Fe’s most beautiful but at times most underused features,” Randall explains. “A picture’s worth 1,000 words—and Trekker is thousands of pictures: a step-by-step guide through many of the best highlights of the great Santa Fe outdoors.”

Trekker technology is unique in that it is wearable tech. A 50-pound panoramic camera apparatus is outfitted with fifteen lenses and worn by the hiker to capture some of the city’s most prized, but often tucked away places. Check out this video for behind the scenes footage of Santa Fe.
