Two new purpose-built expedition ships embody an ultra-luxe aesthetic for VIPs.
Groups sailing in 2021 and 2022 have new luxe options in the all-suite Seabourn Venture and her soon-to-be-named sister ship. The cruise line’s Wintergarden, Signature and Owners suites have a comfortable wood and stone aesthetic, time-honored pieces, bronze accents and textured fabrics reflect bygone maritime craftsmanship, while also offering plenty of creature comforts for VIP groups.
In-room perks are sure to pamper attendees, from built-in heated jacket wardrobes and personal suite stewardesses to walk-in closets and separate tubs and showers. Modernized custom bedside panels, analog clocks and foldaway reading lamps transport attendees to another era. The ship’s art collection, meanwhile, tells the tale of the seasoned explorer, extending beyond public areas into the ships’ all oceanfront with private veranda suites.
Speaking to the ultra-luxe ambiance, Seabourn President Richard Meadows said, “Each of these stylish suites offers a warm, welcoming environment and features thoughtful design touches that create subtle memories of the experience on their own. After a full day of activity, perhaps off the ship with our expedition team taking in nature’s splendor, guest suites will be the perfect place to rest or relax before the evening’s insightful recap or the next big adventure.”
Here’s a breakdown of the suites:
A new layout for Seabourn, this two-story suite is a place to revive exhausted execs, or one for entertaining, small meetings and brainstorming. Groups can gather around a dining table for four or try old-school team building via a customized selection of spirits, including a bottle of coveted Shackleton Blended Malt Scotch Whiskey, of the 1907 British Antarctic Expedition. Wintergarden suite guests can also enjoy wildlife and vista spotting using a tripod-mounted spotting scope. The lower level of the suite features a second bedroom and bathroom with separate tub and shower and a sculptured staircase leads to the master bedroom and its expansive windows, wall of closets and whirlpool spa tub.
The Wintergarden Suite includes the same features as the Grand Wintergarden without the additional bedroom and full bathroom on the lower level.
Each of these suites features a foyer entry opening to an inviting living area with a high-def TV, dining table for four, guest bath and pantry with wet bar, while large windows wash the suite with natural light. The separate bedroom has a glass door that leads to a large curved veranda that includes its own canopied whirlpool spa tub, sun loungers, sofa and chairs.
The Owners Suite offers commanding views of the ship’s course and the world beyond. The ambiance reflects the expedition traveler in a comfortable living area with high-def TV, a writing desk and dining table for two, perfect for meals in-suite at any time of day. A glass door leads to a curved veranda with sun loungers and a table for four, making it an ideal place to share stories with fellow guests.
