Mystery in Texas: Hyatt Offers Murder Mystery Teambuilding

Murder is afoot in the Hill Country of Texas and solving the crime is elementary—it’s up to groups to figure out whodunit.

The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa has partnered with Baker Street Mystery, a local San Antonio entertainment company, to create interactive murder mystery events for groups meeting at this convention property set 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio.

“We are thrilled to debut exciting and interactive murder mystery events to meeting planners and groups at the resort,” said Michael Hrabovsky, the resort’s Director of Sales, Events and Marketing in an announcement to the media. “The mystery-themed events are filled with intrigue, entertainment, and delicious food & beverage created by our talented culinary team.”

No Matter the Theme, the Method is Murder

Groups booking the murder mystery event work with the resort’s team and Baker Street Mystery to determine a theme for their group. Theme examples include the roaring 20s, a Wild West saloon, a Clue-themed mystery, and others. The group can also request a customized theme.

Prizes will be awarded to the person with the best themed costume, the best actor, and the person who correctly solves the crime. The activity can be scheduled with one of the resort’s event or sales representatives.

Upgraded for Group Events

Hyatt Regency Hill Country recently completed a $50M renovation to its guestrooms and meeting spaces. The Hill Country Ballroom, Fredericksburg Ballroom and all indoor breakout rooms have been refreshed with new carpeting, wall coverings, light fixtures and sound systems; the new style features a blend of soothing hues, textures, and classic patterns including rich metallic finishes, stripes, linens, leather, natural stone and wood tones. The new design concept boasts a sophisticated aesthetic inspired by the surrounding landscape while paying homage to the resort’s heritage.

With more than 100,000 sf of flexible meeting space, the resort features customizable options for groups of any size. In addition to its newly-renovated indoor space, the resort offers several outdoor venues including the Luckenbach Pavilion, an outdoor covered terrace overlooking the golf course; Independence Lawn, a lush outdoor space accented with a beautiful limestone terrace; Henry’s Hollow, a natural setting ideal for a glamping-style set-up with twinkling lights strung from oak trees; and several other options.

Groups also may opt for the Rogers-Wiseman Pavilion, an enclosed permanent tent featuring floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides showcasing natural lighting and the Hill Country scenery with the comfort of a climate-controlled atmosphere.
