Even if your event isn’t on the scale of the 2024 Olympic Closing Ceremony in Paris, you too can use the audience-engagement tech to provide Olympic-Scale audience engagement.

The Closing Ceremony at this year’s Summer Olympic Games was a master class in audience engagement, thanks in no small part to the Moving Visual Transmitter (MVT), an immersive lighting technology from PixMob that transforms crowds into living screens. While you may not have an audience of 70,000, PixMob’s high-powered X4 LED wristbands can turn your general session audience into an interactive human canvas that showcases your message into an audience-engaging, Olympic-scale storytelling event.

Prevue: Tell us a little bit more about PixMob.

Aviran: PixMob is a leader in the LED wearable space that focuses on creating immersive lighting experiences for fans using our in-house engineered wireless lighting technology. Our goal is to make venue guests feel like they’re a part of the event rather than solely attending.

Prevue: While we understand that you can’t publicly discuss the details of what went into the Olympic Closing Ceremony event, how can using PixMob’s tech add to the engagement and excitement of an event of non-Olympic scale?

Aviran: The technology adds to the engagement because people become a critical part of the event. The visuals create a sense of togetherness that brings guests and fans closer to the experience. Every time we design a show, we aim to give people goosebumps and have them walk feeling like they just experienced something magical. Additionally, none of our wristbands have single-use plastics and are made from sustainable materials and event-goers are now used to returning them after the event which means we minimize our carbon footprint all while contributing to a good time.

Prevue: How can meeting and event planners incorporate this technology into their own events?

Aviran: The beauty of PixMob is that the wow moments we seek to create translate to every environment. Brand activations, big corporate gatherings, concerts, sporting events — we’re all human and we seek these jaw-dropping experiences wherever we go. With every human representing a pixel in a canvas, we aim to have as many pixels condensed in a space as possible to create the biggest impact.

Prevue: Do you have any other examples of how your tech has been used at other meetings and events (maybe on a slightly smaller scale)?

Aviran: PixMob has become a fixture at gatherings, be it a Bad Bunny or Taylor Swift concert, a Gucci fashion show or the new Trolls Band Together movie. The technology is most impactful in spaces with 5,000 people and up.

Prevue: Now that you have the Olympic experience under your belts, what else can we expect to see from your company?

Aviran: Closing out the games with our new MVT technology lit a fire under us — we really obsess over the next thing we’re going to innovate. What can we do that’ll make people think “how on earth did they do that?” This is where we’re at now, and we’re excited to bring that to event professionals worldwide.
