There’s more to Monaco than its Mediterranean climate, flair for design-driven sustainability and prime location in the heart of Europe.
And the following updates for 2019 Monaco meetings prove just that.
Group Frescos
Phenix Events has unveiled a team building option that inspires the creative genius of your group. Collaborative painting sessions—paint bars to group frescos—with a professional artist can be customized for breakouts, cocktail receptions or meetings. Phenix Events artists can also paint a solo piece in front of your group using a prescribed theme and/or messaging that is later re-created by the artist and divided up among attendees as keepsakes.
InspireMe
Focused on the meetings and events preferences of millennials, the DMC InspireMe personalizes destination experiences for attendees. Local experiences, culinary, cultural and sustainable are all popular themes. A new activity is “Snap Monaco,” where attendees discover the unexpected side of Monaco with a mobile photographer. Groups can also partner with local sustainable businesses for a customized three-day incentive experience.
New & Reimagined
Excitement is building over One Monte-Carlo, a new conference and events center by Monte-Carlo SBM that is surrounded by greenery and luxe shopping. Set to debut this spring in the heart of Monaco, the 15,000-sf center joins Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo and Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo to form a new business tourism hub, nearly doubling Monte-Carlo SBM’s business tourism space around the Casino Square.
Fairmont Monte Carlo has also been busy renovating 35 Junior Suites—all garden facing—while Columbus Monte-Carlo’s new social dining concept, Tavolo, offers a unique space for up to 100 attendees. Highlights here include classic and bespoke cocktails such as “Flowers & Petals” that implement local ingredients, indoor-outdoor seating and a Mediterranean menu that also culls from local flavors.
Monaco ePrix
A new version of the Formula 1 race, Monaco ePrix is now open to groups who want the heart-pumping thrills of racing but without the pesky pollution. The Formula E world championship is an eco-focused electric car race that takes place on a section of the legendary Formula 1 circuit. Groups can also experience the race glam-style with Incentive Concept—imagine champagne toasts and a meal with a Michelin-starred chef, all while observing the race from a yacht with panoramic views.
Themed Events
Whether garden parties that incorporate top-notch culinary experiences from local restaurants or a re-creation of Burning Man, local DMCs make it easy to dream big. Pacific World recently recreated Burning Man for 650 attendees. They integrated an additional art and music theme to make it their own. Other immersive experiential themes include a brush with local history at the Rock of Monaco, an old town area and historical center that showcases important monuments of Monaco. Here, groups can taste the barbajuan (local specialty), listen to live accordion music and possibly sample chocolates from the famous Chocolaterie de Monaco.
