Calling all industry advocates — Registration is now open for ECA Legislative Action Day, scheduled for June 1 in Washington, D.C.
Do you have a sneaking suspicion that U.S. legislators just don’t “get” the meetings and events industry? If so, here’s your opportunity to do something about it. Industry advocates can sign up now to take part in the Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance’s (ECA) 2023 Legislative Action Day, coming to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Just go to ECALegislativeActionDay.com to register to take part with your fellow advocates and leaders throughout the business events industry informing members of Congress about how face-to-face meetings lead to economic growth and increased job creation, and how they empower small businesses across the U.S. This will be the first Legislative Action Day to include in-person meetings since the pandemic began.
“The advocacy work of the business events industry has never been more important,” said David DuBois, CMP, CMP-Fellow, CAE, FASAE, CTA, Co-President of ECA. “That’s why I can’t wait to see our community back together on Capitol Hill to meet with the policymakers on the policy issues that matter to our advancement.”
Participants in this year’s one-day program will have the opportunity to meet with Congressional representatives on Capitol Hill after first getting a policy briefing at the kickoff breakfast. After the day’s events are concluded, you can debrief at a post-event reception while networking with industry colleagues.
Those who come in a day early have the additional opportunity to attend the Lippman Connects Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum (ECEF), a one-day information-sharing and networking event for association leaders and independent organizers that will be held May 31.
“It is imperative for our industry to be heard on Capitol Hill, and ECEF pledges to do all it can to support ECA in this all-important initiative,” said Sam Lippman, President of Lippman Connects and producer of ECEF.
