It’s that time of year: The Events Industry Council (EIC) has announced the winners of its annual Global Recognition Awards.

The Global Recognition Awards awards honor exemplary achievements and focus on leadership at all levels and areas of focus within the global business events industry. Winners will be recognized at an in-person event during IMEX on November 7, 2021 at MGM Grand Las Vegas.

And the winners are:

  • Arnaldo Nardone, Director, FIEXPO Latin America; Geoff Donaghy, Group Director Convention Centres, ASM Global; Rajeev Kohli, Joint Managing Director, Creative Travel, and Dave Lutz, Managing Director, Velvet Chainsaw, were inducted into the EIC Hall of Leaders They join 140 previous recipients each of whom has had a significant legacy impact on the global business events sector
  • Lotta Boman, Owner and CEO, Sigtunahöjden Hotel & Conference Centre, won the inaugural Social Impact Award which recognizes her extraordinary effort in the areas of people, planet and prosperity
  • Matthias Schultze, Managing Director, German Convention Bureau and Heather Seasholtz, Mary-Ann Urbanovich and Shannon Majewski for their collaboration on the Pandemic Compliance Advisor Course were announced as the winners of the Adaptation and Innovation Award, which recognizes the extraordinary effort on the part of an individual or organization in the areas of adaptation and innovation to ensure our industry’s relevance now and into the future
  • Rachel Klar, Senior Events Marketing Manager, Intuit won the Pacesetter Award, which recognizes emerging leaders whose forward-thinking and innovative approach has led to ground-breaking changes that are advancing the industry today

The winners will be recognized at the Global Awards Ceremony, at an in person event that takes on the evening of 7th November 2021, at MGM Grand Las Vegas during IMEX America.

Barbara Scofidio is Editor of Prevue and heads up the Visionary Summits, our exclusive conference series targeting senior-level meeting and incentive planners.
