Atlantic City is bringing its Monopoly connection to IMEX America, using the iconic board game to showcase the destination—and the region beyond its casinos.

Atlantic City’s life-sized Monopoly gameboard.

The activation builds on a recent life-size Monopoly experience at New York City’s Grand Central Terminal, held Oct. 2-4, following a similar event at Washington, D.C.’s Union Station. The experiences tap into the nostalgia surrounding a game inspired by Atlantic City, while putting the destination’s landmarks directly on the board.

At Grand Central, the life-size game featured familiar Atlantic City spots including the Boardwalk, Ocean Casino Resort and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The activation also looked beyond the city, highlighting attractions in Atlantic County and Cape May County, including Renault Winery. Visitors could enter to win Atlantic City-themed prizes, getaways and hotel stays.

The Icons of Atlantic City.

At IMEX America, Atlantic City will continue that conversation with meeting and incentive planners, using Monopoly as a familiar entry point to a destination story that extends beyond gaming and casinos.

For planners, that means a closer look at the area’s mix of entertainment, attractions, hotels and regional options for groups.
