Bringing your next meeting or convention to San Jose is already a smart move.
But you can achieve genius status when attendees discover just how much they can experience outside of the meeting venue.
Getting Around
Give your attendees a quick and easy (and inexpensive) way to get around San Jose with VTA Light Rail and Bus service. Explore San Jose, and discover even more of Silicon Valley with extensive bus routes. San Jose features a walkable downtown, but attendees can also take a Ford GoBike, Lime or Bird electric scooter for a spin, or hop on the free-to-ride DASH (Downtown Area Shuttle) when they need to give their feet a break. Shuttles run Monday through Friday, from approximately 6:30am to 9:15pm.
Winchester Mystery House
For something a little different, tour the intriguing Winchester Mystery House. Built over the course of 38 years by Sarah Pardee Winchester, this beautiful yet bizarre Victorian mansion has boggled the minds of visitors since opening to the public in 1923. Stairs leading nowhere, doors that open to brick walls—oh, and it might be haunted, too.
Japanese Friendship Garden
Does the team need a breather? Fresh air will do them good. Head to the Japanese Friendship Garden, an urban oasis where you can take a rejuvenating stroll or simply sit quietly, enjoying tranquil koi ponds, serene pathways and manicured greenery.
San Pedro Square Market
San Jose’s creative vibe isn’t limited to its galleries, art museums and maker scene. You can also taste it in kitchens around the city. But nowhere will you find a more diverse culinary offering than the historic San Pedro Square Market. Choose from tapas, handmade pastas, brewpub fare, dumplings and noodles, and sweet and savory flavors from all over the world.
Monopoly in the Park
When it comes to unforgettable team-building activities, think big. And nowhere else on Earth will you find a larger-than-life version of Monopoly. It also happens to be San Jose’s only attraction in the Guinness Book of World Records. Head to Discovery Meadow to “make it big” as a Silicon Valley real estate tycoon on the 930-square-foot board, complete with jumbo dice and gigantic game tokens.
If you’re looking to take your meeting or convention to the next level, be sure to include San Jose’s memorable attractions. You can see many of them in Grace Kelly’s latest music video, where she sings about all the things she loves about the capital of Silicon Valley. Visit SanJose.org/Meetings to learn more. Learn More
