This Netflix series about a Midwest girl who is kidnapped and forced to live underground for 15 years is as jam-packed with insights as it is hilarious. Kimmy emerges on the streets of New York City fresh, innocent and enthusiastic, bubbling over with brilliant one-liners that stop viewers in their tracks. Here are a few lessons for meeting planners from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s quirky cast of characters:

All you have to do is take life 10 seconds at a time

Solve one issue, move on to the next. Chunk it down.

Celebrate the small wins

Let your team know what they did right this time.

No matter what your crisis, the world is not ending

Every problem has a solution, though you may not feel like it at the moment.

Follow you passions, even if you’re not very good at them

This one is for Titus Andromedon, Kimmy’s hilarious roommate, who fled his wedding in Mississippi to develop an alter-ego, an aspiring Broadway actor.

Smile until you feel better

On the show, it’s called “Kimmying,” but in real life there’s a direct correlation between smiling and your mood. More more tips on what to do when life sends you lemons (or geese, as in this example), check out Captain Sully’s tips.

When in doubt, Pinooooooooooot Noooooooooir!

A nice glass of wine helps the spirits rise and the networking flow

You can do this!
