Inside The Mansion at MGM Grand Las Vegas

The Mansion, meetings
The Mansion villas are available to guests by request only.

During IMEX week, I had the chance to experience a Las Vegas property that few people even know exists, The Mansion.

It was early one morning IMEX week that I had the chance to slip behind a big set of wrought iron gates in the heart of the MGM Las Vegas complex, then down a long hallway, and into another world—a property that few ever get to experience. The Mansion.

My guide from the front of the house spoke excitedly about my visit there: When the Los Angeles Lakers come to town, he told me, Kobe gets to stay there. Just him, not the whole team. There’s no signage in the casino because it’s so exclusive, so my escort said he always personally walks guests through the maze of casino aisles to the entrance. “I can’t go any further, so good luck, and enjoy,” he added, as I was whisked away by another cordial host into what is perhaps the most opulent setting I’ve experienced in 25 years of traveling to Vegas.

Inspired by an 18th-century country villa outside Florence, The Mansion was created as a haven for high rollers and is available for meetings in a variety of elegant settings, ranging from a sumptuously appointed boardroom to a private screening room. Prevue, in conjunction with the Incentive Research Foundation, will host Meet Well—a brand-new, exclusive event focusing on best-in-class practices for integrating wellness into meetings and incentives—here next March 27 to 29.

Many of The Mansion’s 29 villas, which are reserved for invited guests, overlook the stunning outdoor Italian gardens and high tea can be served on the charming loggia. An ornate limestone fountain sits at the center of the circular entrance. There’s a private pool and spa. And of course, the amenities are as first-class as can be imagined: limousine service, concierge service and butler service by an attentive staff that numbers in the dozens.

Though you’re still physically in the heart of Las Vegas, you have a chance to experience this city in a way few others ever do. A meeting in The Mansion lends the distinct impression that you have finally arrived.
