The Atterbury, Autograph Collection, has opened nearly 19,000 sf of meeting and event space in Pittsburgh’s historic Fulton Building.

The new venues include a ballroom overlooking the Allegheny River, a private-event lounge and an immersive multimedia installation in the building’s 9-story rotunda. A partnership with neighboring Heinz Hall further expands the options for planners hosting meetings and special events.

The hotel’s Grand Rotunda.

“For decades, the Fulton Building has been the setting of memorable events, from weddings in front of our iconic staircase to corporate gatherings overlooking the nine-story rotunda,” said General Manager Dustin Kovats in a media release. “As we embark on our storied building’s latest chapter, the entire team at The Atterbury is eager to build upon this legacy as a destination for remarkable events.”

At 3,500 sf, the Symphony Ballroom is the hotel’s largest venue, accommodating up to 350 guests. Natural light and views of the Allegheny River and PNC Park distinguish the space, which can also be divided into three sections.

Additional venues include the Jimmy Stewart Room, Rhapsody Ballroom, George Benson Room and August Wilson Room. A new ground-floor lounge, The Fulton Room, features gilded ceilings, backlit onyx walls and a fireplace, providing a setting for private dining and smaller gatherings.

The building’s rotunda is also home to The Moment, a multimedia installation combining video, light, color and music for an experience that can be customized for private events with visuals ranging from corporate branding to event-specific designs.

The Heinz Hall partnership creates opportunities to extend events beyond the hotel, with access to the concert hall’s spaces and catering services. Home to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Heinz Hall is also a setting for performances and special events. The Atterbury serves as the official catering partner for both the concert hall and the orchestra, bringing its culinary program to gatherings at the neighboring venue.

Back at the hotel, catering options include everything from passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktail displays to multi-course dinners. The Drafting Room, a new all-day restaurant and bar, is also available for private events and full buyouts.

With 300 guest rooms and suites, including select accommodations with private terraces, The Atterbury allows groups to keep meetings, dining and overnight stays in one location. The property is part of RLJ Lodging Trust‘s multimillion-dollar transformation of the historic Fulton Building.
