Australia is always changing, offering a wide range of new attractions, hotels and group experiences for meeting planners to check out. Here’s a roundup of five new or refreshed Australia hotels for groups to visit.

Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney

The 364-room Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney officially completed its $10.2 million redesign of the hotel’s more than 1,640 sf of meeting space with the capacity to cater up to 200 guests. Once home to the Fairfax newspaper empire, the Radisson Blu now hosts corporate attendees within walking distance of the Sydney Opera House or business-centric Wynyard Station.

Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas

Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas in Queensland officially reopened after undergoing a $32.49 million refurbishment, which included an update to the property’s restaurants, main building and 294 guest rooms. Situated on the area’s famous Four Mile Beach and surrounded by lush tropical gardens and saltwater lagoon pools, groups will want to explore the nearby Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest.

The Johnson

The Art Series Hotel Group opens its latest hotel, The Johnson, this month in Brisbane. The property features 87 suites, two penthouses, a pool with a sundeck, and conference and event facilities that are all highlighted by artworks from Australian abstract artist, Michael Johnson. Other artsy perks include in-house art libraries and a dedicated art channel for attendees to check out.

Silo Hotel

Construction began last month on the $15.11 million Silo Hotel, located on Northbank in Launceston. The seven-story hotel will feature 108 accommodation rooms, a restaurant, cocktail bar and large meeting room. Touting views of the nearby Seaport and Royal Park, Tamar River Bason and the city’s famous Cataract Gorge, the hotel will attract groups when it opens in December 2017.
