Expedition cruise leader Hurtigruten made a big splash at IMEX America by introducing two new 7-day cruises that are ideal for the incentive market.

Hurtigruten’s 7-day itineraries make two bucket-list experiences that until now have only been available on longer cruises—the Galapagos Islands and the Northern Lights in Norway—more accessible for incentive groups. Here’s what they offer:

Galapagos Islands

With 32 departures year-round between January of 2023 and March of 2024 on the MS Santa Cruz, this cruise sets off from Quito, Ecuador to the amazing Galápagos Islands. The trip includes two days Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage City, where the group can visit an active volcano, take guided nature walks and visit the vibrant open-air market before setting sail. Once on board, the cruise takes them through a variety of ecosystems and landscapes and, of course, offers the chance to view wildlife ranging from sea lions to giant tortoises to the iconic Darwin’s Finches. Groups are led by naturalist guides on a variety of vessels, including kayaks and a glass-bottom boat. Best of all, the excursions take place at exclusive visitor sites, where they often have the entire area to themselves.

Norwegian Coast

On the other side of the world, an unforgettable Hurtigruten adventure along the Norwegian Coast starts in the beautiful city of Tromsø, above the Arctic Circle, heading down one of the world’s longest coastlines to Norway’s southernmost point at Lindesnes before reaching the capital of Oslo. There are 8 winter season departures now available between October of 2023 and March of 2024. Groups sail on the newly renovated MS Trollfjord to the first stops in the Lofoten island chain, where a variety of optional excursions are available, including snowshoe hikes or a ride on horseback along a white sandy beach. Other stops include the Vega Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage site made up of over 6,500 islands, and the picturesque storybook town of Ålesund. And to tick off another bucket list experience, the group will almost certainly experience the Northern Lights during the winter months (Tromsø is one of the best places in the world to view them).
