Viceroy Hotel Group announced plans on July 12 to open Viceroy Bocas del Toro Panama, a luxury travel property with two major perks: extreme exclusivity and eco-friendly ideals. It’s so exclusive, in fact, that attendees can only get there by boat, seaplane or helicopter. Once there, private white-sand beaches, sailing, surfing and hiking opportunities create the perfect playground for groups looking for a new experience in the outskirts of Panama City, Panama.
The resort practices strict eco-friendly values, allowing only the use of electrical cars and sustainable technologies throughout its 457 acres. Its landscaping is also carefully designed to include indigenous plants that can be used to prepare the freshest local dishes at one of the eight, onsite restaurants and lounges. While the property offers a wide range of activities, including rainforest ziplining, snorkeling, paddle boarding and deep-sea fishing, its setting within the San San Pond Sak wetlands, the most biologically diverse tropical coral reef in the region, makes it ideal for bird watching, bicycling and guided eco-tours.
Scheduled to debut in 2019, the property will feature 186 rooms, highlighted by 42 overwater villas along the resort’s coastline. Each of the villas will include its own private plunge pool and direct access to the ocean by deck. Indoor meeting space, a fitness center, cinema lounge, library and spa featuring rejuvenation pools round out the rest of the resort offerings.
