Hawaii offers an ideal escape for incentive groups in search of warm weather and resort offerings, from golf to pools to delicious cuisine.

However, the islands’ tropical landscape matched by its strong traditions and customs make Hawaii standout from the typical American beach destination. Here are five of Hawaii’s latest activities that will add an aloha twist to any incentive program.

Volcano Tours

Akamai Adventure Tours & Travel recently added the Kilauea Evening Summit Glow tour for groups looking to explore Kilauea volcano in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island. Once on the trail, attendees will learn more about the Big Island’s ecosystem as guides identify flora and fauna along the trek.

Luau Experiences

Also on the Big Island, the Hawaii Loa Luau debuted on Oct. 15, allowing groups to participate in a traditional Hawaiian feast followed by a hula performance. Attendees will appreciate celebrating in the very spot that once served as a gathering place for Hawaiian royalty and their guests.

Zip Line Adventures

KapohoKine Adventures now offers its expanded Nohona Hawaii program, which teaches traditional and modern Hawaiian methods in an outdoor environment. Attendees will engage in conservation work on the Big Island by removing invasive plants and replanting native ones in between zip lining on the company’s four lines.

Film-Location Experiences

Similarly, Outfitters Kauai’s newest attraction, the Kahuna Zipline Trek, gives attendees visiting Kauai the option to zip line over famous sites that were used in films such as Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Wildlife Refuges

Also located on Kauai, Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge reopened this fall after four months of closure due to renovations. Groups can once again visit the home of one of Hawaii’s largest populations of nesting seabirds as well as spinner dolphins, Hawaiian monk seals and other native animals.

Cultural Site Visits

Groups can experience some of Maui’s most cultural gardens, historic churches and ancient Hawaiian heiau (or temples) on the Best of Maui’s West Side Tour with Maui Paradise Tours. The six-hour tour will also take groups to explore Maui’s old whaling district and snorkeling locations where attendees can snorkel to see some of the area’s colorful marine life.
