Disneyland is Reopening

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are planning to officially reopen to the public on April 30, with limited capacity.

Initially, Disneyland reservations will be limited and subject to availability and, until further notice, only California residents may visit the parks in line with current state guidelines.

Just as the Downtown Disney District reopened at Disneyland Resort last July with enhanced health and safety measures, operational changes will be in place at the theme parks and hotels to promote physical distancing, enhanced cleanliness and reduced contact. Face coverings will be mandatory.

Attractions will also begin to open at both parks—from experiences like the new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to family-friendly experiences like Peter Pan’s Flight and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. And at Disneyland, extended refurbishments are underway at the Haunted Mansion. Avengers Campus, a completely new land, will open at a later date at Disney California Adventure.

The hotels of the Disneyland Resort also plan to welcome guests once again, with a phased reopening. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa plans to reopen on April 29, with limited capacity. Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and the Disneyland Hotel will reopen at a later date.

News from Walt Disney World

Disneyland’s sister resort in Orlando also has news. At EPCOT, “The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure” is now open. Attendees visiting the park can enjoy a musical tour of the U.S. as they learn more about this musical genre. This new exhibit features Joe Gardner, the musician, mentor and teacher from “Soul,” as he shares the rich and surprising history of jazz from New Orleans to Chicago.

Additionally, scheduled for a summer opening is the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, a new addition to the the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. The 14-story, 349-room hotel will feature a top floor event space, Vue, and is home to two ballrooms and 12 meeting rooms, within 15,000 sf of meeting space and 13,000 sf of outdoor event space.

Disney’s Riviera Resort opened this past December, offering groups a Parisian-style coffee shop, Le Petit Cafe, which turns into a wine bar by night, as well as Primo Piatto serving up breakfast and lunch, and Topolino’s Terrace—Flavors of the Riviera, a signature dining venue with panoramic views of Walt Disney World, and featuring a poolside bar. On the outdoor terrace, groups can take up a game of bocce ball, giant chess, or lawn snooker.
