United is increasing its Pacific network with new flights to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Adelaide and Manila.

United has announced its intention to be the only U.S. airline to offer flights to Bangkok, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with new daily service from Hong Kong planned to start this fall. The new flights will offer easier connections for travelers from across North America to help meet the growing demand for travel to these Far East destinations.

Because United operates flights between Hong Kong and its San Francisco and Los Angeles hubs in both morning and evening time banks, the airline can add both Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City service using a single wide-body aircraft.

Starting Dec. 11, United also will launch the first nonstop flights between the U.S. and Adelaide, Australia—just in time for the Australian summer. With the addition of this three-times weekly seasonal service, United is now the leading carrier to Australia from the Continental U.S., also offering flights to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

In addition, United is also adding a second daily flight between San Francisco and Manila. Starting on Oct. 25, travelers from both cities will have the option of a daytime or evening flight for greater convenience. United is the only U.S. airline to serve the Philippines, with service to both Manila and Cebu.

With these new routes, United will now offer flights from the U.S. to 32 different cities in the Pacific region—four times that of any other U.S. carrier.

Bangkok, Thailand: United will launch daily flights to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) on Oct. 26. The airline will operate the 257-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which features 48 Polaris business-class pods, 21 Premium Plus recliners, 39 Economy Plus extra-legroom seats and 149 standard economy seats, on this route. Despite United’s multiple hubs across the U.S., this new route will depart from Hong Kong.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: Beginning Oct. 26, United’s new daily service to Ho Chi Minh City, coming from either Los Angeles or San Francisco, also on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Adelaide, Australia: United is already the largest U.S. airline flying to Australia, and it will only get bigger next year with the introduction of service to Adelaide. The carrier will launch first-ever flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Adelaide Airport (ADL) on Dec. 11 with thrice-weekly flights and operated in tandem with codeshare partner Virgin Australia.

Manila, Philippines: On Oct. 25, United will begin flying its second flight between San Francisco and Manila, bringing U.S. travelers more flexibility between day and evening flights. The flight will be operated on a Boeing 777-300ER.
