Pride Month doesn’t take any detours. It’s a worldwide phenomenon, with June officially recognized as Pride Month across the globe, though some cities may hold their Pride events on alternate dates.
Already in June, celebrations have taken place in Athens, Guadalajara, the UK and Ibiza, according to IGLTA, touted as the world’s leading network of LGBTQ+ welcoming tourism businesses. IGLTA’s members include LGBTQ+ friendly accommodations, transportation, destinations, service providers, travel agents, tour operators, events and travel media located in over 80 countries.

How far-reaching do IGLTA’s efforts go? All the way to Everest Base Camp on a 17-day adventure offered by Trekking Team Group, which IGLTA has described as “probably the first Gay and Lesbian friendly tour operator in Nepal that has employed gay staff in the office to understand [the needs of] gay travelers.”
IGLTA-supported Everest treks take place in June, but Trekking Team Group offers the tour at other times of the year, with October being the peak month when weather conditions are optimal.
