Kauai is adding a new option for meetings and incentive travel with the opening of Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi, Curio Collection by Hilton, Hilton’s first Curio Collection property in Hawaii.

The 210-room resort overlooks Nawiliwili Bay and Kalapaki Beach and offers more than 14,000 sf of flexible indoor and outdoor event space.

Located within the Hokuala Resort community near Lihue Airport, the property pairs ocean and mountain views with destination-inspired dining, cultural programming and outdoor activities. Planners can build group itineraries around the resort’s event venues while incorporating experiences that connect attendees with Kauai’s landscape and heritage.

Indoor and Outdoor Events With Island Views

Open-air venues feature views of the Pacific Ocean and Hāʻupu Mountain, giving planners options for gatherings that take advantage of the island’s scenery. The resort’s 210 guest rooms include 23 suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows and private lanais.

Build Group Programs Around Local Culture

The resort’s signature cultural immersion program, E Ala Ka Pilina, meaning “The Awakening of Connection,” offers opportunities to incorporate local culture into group itineraries. Developed with cultural practitioners, historians, educators, artisans, nonprofits and community organizations, the program includes on-property activities, off-property excursions and culinary storytelling.

The Kauaʻi Museum will serve as the program’s inaugural partner, offering experiences that explore the island’s history and creative expression. Future programming will highlight agriculture, lei making, traditional aquaculture, land stewardship, hula and Hawaiian storytelling.

Dining Adds a Local Flavor

The resort’s culinary program draws on Hawaii’s diverse food heritage, including Native Hawaiian, Portuguese, Polynesian and Asian influences.

Figueira, the signature restaurant overlooking the 18th hole of the Ocean Course at Hōkūala, offers a Portuguese-Hawaiian dining concept featuring island-grown ingredients and dishes inspired by Portuguese culinary traditions. For more casual group dining, The Wiliwili at Hale Hōkūala serves Hawaiian favorites, including poke bowls, plate lunches, and shave ice, along with tropical cocktails and nonalcoholic options.

Golf, Wellness and Outdoor Activities

Groups can extend their programs beyond the meeting room with access to wellness and recreational amenities throughout the wider Hōkūala community. Options include a full-service spa, wellness programming, tennis and pickleball courts, and preferred tee times at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Ocean Course at Hōkūala.

The resort also offers access to more than five miles of scenic trails, complimentary bicycles and beach amenities. Groups can visit The Farm at Hōkūala to explore native crops and agricultural traditions or use the property as a starting point for excursions to destinations such as Hanalei Bay, Kauai’s North Shore, Waimea Canyon and Kōkeʻe State Park.

A New Curio Collection Option in Hawaii

Hale Hōkūala’s opening marks Curio Collection by Hilton’s debut in Hawaii and expands Hilton’s presence across the islands, where the company operates nearly 30 hotels. The resort participates in Hilton Honors, Hilton’s guest loyalty program.
