Groups can meet at the same spot that famous celebrities—ahem, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor—have called home over the years, but now The Dorchester hotel in London is enticing attendees with more than its iconic history.
Its “Gourmet & Stay” package will bring the quintessential Dorchester Collection sophistication to the dining table by offering meeting planners the opportunity to book an overnight package that also includes a team lunch at one of its four celebrated restaurants.
“Part of the attraction of London is the buzz and quality of its restaurant scene. The Dorchester is in a unique position to offer groups [some] of London’s top venues on their doorstep,” says Robert Whitfield, general manager of The Dorchester and UK regional director. “I don’t want delegates to come all the way to London and miss out on the chance to say they ate at the city’s best restaurants, so we’ve made it possible.”
That means attendees could enjoy a three-course meal at China Tang, dining on delicious dim sum or the restaurant’s signature Peking duck. Touting three Michelin stars, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester is also quite the treat. The French menu changes regularly, with past items including Cornish egg, Denbigshire pork and chocolate flown in from France. The Grill at The Dorchester continues the property’s traditional charm as the hotel’s signature restaurant, first established in 1931. True to its name, the restaurant menu features grilled fare, alongside its signature blue lobster chowder, not to mention its extensive sweet soufflé menu. Lastly, CUT at 45 Park Lane, Wolfgang Puck’s first steak restaurant in Europe, obviously features steak alongside other Wolfgang Puck delicacies such as steamed wild sea bass and a lobster club sandwich.
